As a kid I made a mean mud pie. Since 2001 I have been making ceramics at Mudville Pottery in Somerville, MA. I started making pottery as a distraction from graduate school. Now I find that very few things can distract me from the clay. Each pot is unique and I enjoy the special challenges of carving clay in the round on a curved surface. I tend to make vessels that are useful, such bowls, vases, jars, and pitchers. There is something very satisfying in making art that you can use as part of your everyday life.
