Elizabeth Sanders

 

Beth has undergraduate degree in art and graduate study in gastronomy and art. She has pursued an artistic, culinary and botanical path in Boston, Genolier, Switzerland; Durham, North Carolina, Padova and Rome in Italy and Portland Maine at museums, universities and botanical gardens. She has pursued an artistic, culinary and botanical path in Boston, Genolier, Switzerland; Durham, North Carolina, Padova and Rome in Italy and Portland, Maine at museums, universities and botanical gardens. She has served as a docent and artist-in-residence at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University, where she also served on the Advisory Board, and as a Master Gardener for the Durham County Extension Service. Currently, she is a docent at the Portland Museum of Art and its Winslow Homer Studio and a Gallery Instructor at the MFA. Her botanical illustrations and calligraphy are found in international collections and in graphic design for publications. She was recently awarded a grant to pursue a certificate in botanical illustration at the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden and in Italy with Maria Rita Stirpe.
