Laurie Engdahl - I have been painting my entire life, focusing first on watercolors, and moving recently to acrylics.  My art education has included numerous workshops with many noted artists, including Betty Lou Schlemm, Serge Hollerbach, Nancy Howell, Paul George, Maris Platais and Emily Passman.  My work focuses on the New England landscape - - its farms, fields, dunes and simple structures. I seek to capture the way light plays off these scenes.  My goal is to represent the beauty of our landscape, at a particular time of day or during a particular season, in order to inspire joy and peace.

I have participated in several juried shows, and I have been selected in the past for a First Place Prize (2001), two Second Place Prizes (2002 and 2004) at the Art Walk.
